We use these rods to install stationary drapery panels under valances wider than 48". When using our gathered rod pocket method of making non-functioning side panels to hang just to the side of the window. This unique method keeps the panel to the side and allow for a narrower stack back regardless of the thickness of the fabric. Using two smaller rods instead of one long rod that spans the width of the window prevents wasted and unused rod space between the panels. 2" clearance
