We used our 1" bias tape maker to make the bias banding to wrap around the edges of the valances as well as to embellish the inexpensive duvet covers we found on-line. See How to Cut Bias Banding and Using a Bias Tape Maker. We used the Steam-A-SeamII to apply the banding to our project. Some fabrics won't bond strong enough when the project will be used on a daily basis - such as a duvet cover or pillow shams - so we recommend top-stitching it to reinforce the bond. The Steam-A-SeamII is a great tool to use on any project to keep your embellishment in place while stitching - instead of pins.
